Global ATS is proud to announce that four Bermudian students have successfully validated as Air Traffic Control Specialists following the completion of an intensive training course as part of Global ATS’ international partnership programme.
The Bermuda Airport Authority (BAA) selected four candidates from over 100 applicants following a competitive selection process to enrol in the programme at Global ATS to become Air Traffic Control Specialists. The assessment included academic testing, psychological and physical evaluations, and structured interviews, with Global ATS supporting the aptitude selection process.
The successful candidates, Hannah Fletcher, Dejon Robinson, X-onna Lowe-Stevens, and Nakiiah Robinson-Baker, began their journey at Global ATS’ training college in Cheltenham, where the ICAO-compliant syllabus was delivered, including simulator-based practical training. All four students achieved a success rate of over 85% and, following their return to Bermuda in June 2025, completed six months of structured on-the-job training.

Following this on-the-job training, all four trainees have been fully certified and licensed as Air Traffic Control Specialists by the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority. Their accomplishments have been recognised by the Hon. Owen Darrell, Minister of Tourism and Transport, Culture and Sport, who congratulated them on this milestone during a ceremony held in Bermuda.
Through our international partnership programme, Global ATS continues to deliver world-class training in air traffic control, supporting the development of tomorrow’s controllers. This achievement reflects the strong collaboration between Global ATS and BAA in preparing Bermuda’s next generation of air traffic controllers. This partnership continues to flourish, with another of their students, Gordon Loader currently undertaking ICAO-compliant courses at Global ATS.
We would like to congratulate Hannah, Dejon, X-onna and Nakiiah on this fantastic achievement and wish them every success as they embark on the next stage of their careers as Air Traffic Control Specialists at L.F. Wade International Airport.
